Many of Aldi’s private label products look remarkably like their name brand counterparts. Upon first glance, one could be forgiven for mistaking them for the name brand products. Some are so similar that there is bound to be a lawsuit one day. I’ve been working on a comparison for some time now and have posted the first batch of examples below:
Tassal vs. Aldi’s “Almare” – similar colours, similar transparent fish.
Arnott’s Cruskits vs. Aldi’s “Crispetts” – similar name, similar colours.
Surf vs. Aldi’s “Almat” – similar colours, similar circular floral design, similar font.
Twinings vs. Aldi’s “Diplomat” – similar colours, similar font, similar crest logo, similar gold band, similar tea strength indicator.
Colgate vs. Aldi’s “Dentitex” – similar colours, similar font, similar composition (red at the left, blue at the right with the words “Cavity Protection”).
Panadol vs. Aldi’s “Hedanol” – similar colours, similar name.
Choc Wedge vs. Aldi’s “Choc Coats” – similar colors and bold text.
Arnott’s Shapes vs. Aldi’s “Snakos” – similar colours, similar fonts, similar name.
Handee Ultra vs. Aldi’s “Samson” – similar colours and composition.
Latina vs. Aldi’s “Piatti” – similar colours and font.
Palmolive vs. Aldi’s “Tricare” – similar colours, similar font, similar composition.
Sorbent vs. Aldi’s “Confidence” – similar oval-shaped logo, similar colours.
Bulla Splits vs. Aldi’s “Spider Stix” – similar font, similar colours, similar composition.
Golden Circle vs. Aldi’s “TropiStar” – the TropiStar logo looks very similar to Golden Circle’s second most recent logo.
Not once, but twice have I seen the word “holiday” written as “hoilday”. The first example could be excused, as it is a handwritten sign:
The second example, however, is a professionally printed tag that was found on a Christmas gift bag:
